My 4 favourite new cruelty free purchases!

Tuesday, 2 February 2016

I've recently been trying to find a skincare routine which goes with my skin, one that reduces oil and excess sebum to stop my pores from clogging. I actually found one which was perrrrfect but I then realised the brand tested on animals- luckily enough before I purchased the full versions. These are just random bits and bobs I've purchased which I reeeeally like at the moment, and am using a lot, mostly every day.
Yes To Tomatoes toner, Superdrug facial loofah pads, Huygens exfoliating creme and Superdrug dead sea mud mask.

All products I'm going to mention are 100% cruelty free, paraben free and sulphate free. Paraben and Sulphate free are extremely important when it comes to skin care and also hair products. The other ingredient to dodge is 'alcohol dent', which is one of the products you should also avoid having in your skincare routine. This will actually strip your skin, doing more good than bad if its of a high volume. Some products include it in a 1% volume which is acceptable but I probably wouldn't go over 4%-5%.

Yes to tomatoes clear skin face toner.
I was originally very hesitant to buy this as I find toners can be a weird thing to purchase; I can never actually tell if they're doing more bad than good. I've had the yes to cucumber face wipes before also, and I loooved them. This toner pretty much does the job of what it's supposed to do- clean off excess dirt from your face and in a way set your pores back in after you've scrubbed or had a mask on your face.  I find that this is a lot smoother than the other toners I've used before, but the smell isn't as good, it smells literally plain- theres no other way to explain it. This is also made from 98% natural products, meaning not as many harsh ingredients on your skin!

Ingredients:
Salicylic Acid (0.5 %). Inactive Ingredients: Water (Aqua), SD Alcohol 40-B, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Bark/Leaf/Twig Extract, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Gluconolactone, Alcohol, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract*, Rubus Villosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Citrullus Vulgaris (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Flower Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Amino Esters-1, Betaine, Caramel, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance.

Superdrug Pebbles Facial Loofah.
I haven't actually used one of these before, but I decided I should purchase something to scrub my facial scrubs in with or my face masks. I chose these because they feel rough, but not rough enough to actually damage your skin, just enough to scrub away dirt & product and also stimulate microcirculation on the skin’s surface. I use this either with my cleanser by putting my product on the loofah and scrubbing it in circular motions around my face. Or I use it after I've used my face mask to get the product off my face assuring myself that none of it is left over before I begin to tone and moisturise.

Huygens exfoliating creme.
This smells amaaaazing. It leaves your face smelling of a fresh lemon-y scent. Despite the name of it, it is actually a scrub. I like to use this every once in a while as a treat when I'm in the bath. The rice particles in this scrub get rid of the dead skin cells making the face smooth but non-greasy whilst making the skin glow. The best ingredients in this for your face are the green tea, natural sesame oil and antioxidant green tea. Also 72.9% of the ingredients in this product are produced from organic farming. Although this isn't specifically meant for oily skin, I find this really lovely to use when my skin is feeling dull as I feel like it plumps it up and restores it in a way. Obviously this isn't a cheap product, but if it's doing your skin a whole load of good then its worth it. I also find that it lasts quite long as you don't need a lot of product on your face, I only feel the need to use it in my problematic areas (T-Zone).

Ingredients:
water (aqua), sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil*, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl glucoside, cetearyl alcohol, glycerin*, oryza sativa (rice) powder, citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) flower water*, algin, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract*, tocopherol, benzyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, litsea cubeba fruit oil*, mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf oil*, citral**, citric acid, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, limonene**, dehydroacetic acid. *Ingredient produced from organic farming. **Naturally occuring in essential oils.

Super drug detoxifying dead sea mud face mask.
I originally wanted to re-purchase my trusty body shop sea weed oil balancing mask, but from the price going up a bit I was hesitant and wanted to look around for something similar but a little more purse friendly. This does EXACTLY the same job, and has less of a sea-weedy smell for honestly a fraction of the price. For oily skin peeps clay masks are great!! they unclog the majority of pores, as having oily skin is a build up of excess sebum and this sebum clogs your pores making your blackheads incredibly visible. I really really wish I had taken a before/after photo the first time I used this product, as I was really so amazed with the outcome. I ran downstairs to my sister and was like ommmg!!!! "look what this has done! a miracle!". For £2.59 I advise trying this out if your skin has been giving you a little grief recently!

Ingredients:
Aqua, Kaolin, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, Potassium Sorbate, Disodium Edta, Silt (Dead Sea Mud), Limonene.

Let me know if you've found any amazing crulwlty-free products recently and I'll try and try them out!
